Job Description Lockheed Martin is seeking a Business Development Principle who will be responsible for identifying, maturing, and capturing new research and/or product development efforts encompassing multiple engineering disciplines and technical areas, leveraging MFC's expertise in High Power Electromagnetics and Directed Energy systems.
The selected candidate will also work closely with the MFC Lines of Business to develop collaborative, multi-discipline ideas and mature them through IRAD and/or contracts with Department of Defense (DoD) research organizations including Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), all DoD service labs and research organizations, Academia, and private industry.
This position will require domestic travel.
This Part Time Casual position is a Hybrid Position, with the expectation that most of the effort is remote, with limited on-site work to support classified efforts. The expected need for this position is 10 hours/week (average), less than 1,000 hours per year.
Relocation: Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Basic Qualifications - Proven track record of identifying and capturing new business/Contract Research and Development (CRAD)
- Experience interfacing with high level (SES/GOFO) government leaders in support of R&D transition
- Experience working closely with DoD laboratories/research facilities
- Experience working closely with OUSD R&E and the Joint Directed Energy Transition Office (JDETO)
- Experience leading proposals for research and development efforts
- Experience managing technical interactions between LM staff and government SMEs
- Experience with government contracting processes
- Experience leading an organization or team performing R&D in support of DOD missions
- Overall engineering experience from program capture, requirements analysis/generation through program execution
- Ability to secure a DoD Top Secret security clearance
- Excellent communication and people skills
Desired skills - Experience with application of advanced technology to military missions.
- Experience on the staff of a military major command (MAJCOM) or combatant command (COCOM).
- Experience working within the MFC Business areas and other LM Business Areas to develop new programs &/or technologies
- Experience providing technical guidance and direction for programs, preferably in the applied research area
- Existing DoD Top Secret clearance is highly desired

Ability to work remotely Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $140,400 - $269,100 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $161,500 - $304,300. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
