Salary: $18.00-$21.00

Job Purpose: The  Carpet Cleaning Technician position is responsible for cleaning carpet, rug, and upholstery-related projects in a professional and timely manner. The work will be completed either in the warehouse or at a job location. This is a great opportunity to start as a carpet cleaner and train to be a Mitigation Technician. As a mitigation technician trainee, we will teach you how to perform water mitigation, content manipulation, fire and smoke cleaning of structure and contents, remediation of mold and microbial contamination within residential and commercial structures. This is an entry level position and familiarity with working with hand tools is required. As part of this position, participation in the on-call rotation is required. This involves being available during assigned periods to address any urgent issues that may arise. Your cooperation and flexibility in this regard are essential for ensuring smooth operations

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Customer service, including sales and business development responsibilities.
• Provide quality carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning.
• Pickup and delivery of items from our customers to be cleaned in the warehouse.
• Take care to protect and not damage customer’s contents.
• Follow procedures for cleaning structure and contents, and handling customer’s

As a Mitigation technician trainee you will learn the following:

• Learning and understanding construction of containment systems and critical barriers
• Monitoring of environmental controls and negative pressure
• Operation of air scrubbers and negative air machines
• Monitoring moisture and humidity
• Precision demolition
• Removal of contaminated building materials
• Post-remediation detailed cleaning and fire odor restoration
• Learn how to use a water meter and perform dry-checks
• Water damage emergency response and monitoring
• Lean mold remediation
• Get certified in biohazard cleanup
• Set up and monitor drying equipment
• Apply antimicrobial products
• Proper use of PPE equipment including respirator, gloves, and goggles.
• Trash pick-up
• Help load materials needed in MIT truck
• Pulling Baseboard
• Prepping jobsites for work
• Vent walls
• Pull Carpet pads
• Learn to drive company vehicles
• Basic furniture care and cleaning possessions.

• Remove all residue and odor from contents.
• Follow warehouse procedures for cleaning, handling, and storing contents.
• Keep the job site clean and professional. Leave the job site clean when job is finished.
• Organize and remove all cleaning tools and supplies from the property.
• Daily completion of tracking paperwork, timecards, checkout forms and other necessary paperwork.
• Maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of company equipment.

Qualifications:

• Experience in carpet cleaning desired.
• Excellent people skills.
• Sales experience a plus.
• Good communication and professionalism.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening
• Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force routinely, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Ascends/descends ladders, stairs, scaffoldings, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
• Maintain balance in all situations.
• Push, pull and frequently carry objects such as tools, materials and equipment.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
• Stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Coordinate movement with eyes, hands, fingers, and feet.
• See and hear well with or without correction to avoid safety hazards to themselves and others.
