Job Description
SUMMARY The Communications Specialist is responsible for Field Communication, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all communication to the field; evaluate communication processes and update or implement new processes as needed. This position also supports projects to improve customer experience, enhance field execution, and drive compliance to store standards. Acts as the store liaison to ensure information is accurate, timely and easy to understand for optimal field execution. The Communications Specialist will act as a gatekeeper for all field communications, ensuring proper language and procedures are used. Responsible for verbal, written and visual communication, collaboration with multiple departments, analysis of communication effectiveness and supports various operational initiatives for a national retailer with over 800 stores and $2B+ in sales.
JOB DUTIES - Manage field communications processes, distribution and retention of all field documents and messages that are assigned.
- Compose, review and edit Field communications.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure timely and accurate communication between departments and field partners.
- Make recommendations for the best communication outlet, delivery method and timeframe for all field messages.
- Evaluate processes to develop efficiencies and provide accurate and executable direction to the field.
- Support company initiatives by providing field perspective and communication recommendations for a project launch or rollout.
- Identify content risks or issues in order to provide recommendations that meet communication requirements and operational objectives.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Education Minimum: Bachelors' Degree in Communications or related field
Experience Minimum: 1-2 years' experience in communications or related field
Experience Preferred: 3-5 years' experience in communications or related field
WORKING CONDITIONS Minimal travel to retail stores may be required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES - Strategic thinker with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and support various business teams across the organization
- Lead and drive projects to completion of various size and scope with a high degree of attention to detail
- Work collaboratively with various departments within the organization
- Ability to create engaging content through various communication vehicles including video
- Think outside the box to develop communication efficiencies and strategies for future growth
- Maintain flexibility and prioritize communication needs in a rapidly changing environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 including Excel, Outlook, Office and Publisher
- Experience with InDesign and Acrobat preferred
