Job Title: Patient Care Technician (EMT-B)

What you’ll do:

1. Patient triage, to include but not limited to: vital signs; medical history; observational examination
2. Assist with any and all patient exams, testing and procedures under the direction of the provider
3. Sterile technique in wound care management, dressing application, trauma patients, burn care and instrument cleaning and sterilization
4. Airway management through oral suctioning, oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal airway, oxygen administration & ventilation with AMBU bag
5. Cardiac Management through application of 12 Lead ECG, CPR-Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and defibrillation by AED
6. Medication administration as outlined by the CMD EMT scope of practice
7. Assist with patient call backs to include, but not limited to, answering of patient questions, reporting test results, medication/therapy changes
8. Participates in the training and precepting of team members.

About you:

1. Nationally Certified EMT
2. Licensed EMT
3. AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification Preferred; American Red Cross BLS Certification Accepted
4. Must be able to work 12hr shifts
5. Must be able to work weekends

Physical Requirements:

1. Requires the ability to stand and sit for hours at a time. Some bending and stooping is required.
2. Must be able to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements.
3. Must be able to lift 50lbs.

The EMT is a National Registry Certification, functioning under the Medical Direction of Convenient MD. functioning under the Medical Direction of Convenient MD. The EMT is provided with the education to complete all of the shared responsibilities and clinical tasks such as triage, testing, procedures, and other patient care. The EMT will function as part of the clinical team completing all orders and tasks within their scope of practice.
