Job Title: Massage Therapist
Reports to: Healing Arts Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: Massage therapy helps return your body back to balance through the healing form of touch. A massage therapist is responsible for treating clients and patients by providing relaxations or treating body paint and discomfort. Since every individual is different, our Massage Therapists need to customize each treatment to meet each client's specific needs.
Required Duties and Responsibilities
1) Consults with clients before massage to identify and evaluate areas requiring therapeutic treatment.
2) Consults with clients to assess their expectations, and asks questions related to pain or discomfort and to learn and/or update their medical histories as necessary and appropriate to the scope of treatment.
3) Performs therapeutic massage in a professional manner. Keeps up to date on new methodologies.
4) Occasionally communicates with the patient throughout the massage to ensure comfort with pressure levels and techniques being applied.
5) Always offers 5-Star client care/service ensuring a positive experience for the client.
6) Educates client and recommends appropriate retail product to purchase’
7) Sets up massage table and treatment room including the changing of linens after each massage.
8) Maintains cleanliness and a sanitary environment.
9) Keeps license and liability insurance current.
10) Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Each massage therapist must be able to perform custom and prenatal massage.

Education/Experience:
NYS Massage Therapist license. Two (2) years prior experience preferred.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
