Job Title: Mechanical Engineer- EIT

Reporting To: Mechanical Discipline Lead

Job Location: Englewood, CO

Employment Type: Fulltime, Salary, Exempt

Required Years of Experience: 2 + years of relevant experience a plus

Required Education: Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Travel Required: 10%

Pay: $$72,000-$78,000 DOE

Qualifications &/or Requirements:

• EIT or scheduled to take the EIT exam required.
• Possess an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Dept. of Veterans Affairs, Corps of Engineers &/or other DoD engineering experience desired.
• LEED Certification is desirable.
• Requires U.S. Citizenship and may require a security clearance.
• Be self-motivated, able to perform and solve problems independently, and take the initiative to make sound decisions with minimal oversight.
• Possess good written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency in computer design software programs including: AutoCad (Autodesk or Bentley), Construction Estimating systems, MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, et.) MS Project & Visio, Adobe Acrobat, and other various design and project scheduling software.
• Experience with BIM/Revit a bonus.

Major Duties:

• Designs new mechanical equipment and systems and modifications for facilities (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, and fire protection systems).
• Evaluates design objectives, performs complex technical calculations, identifies economical and efficient procedures for design and resolves applicability of criteria.
• Prepares construction plans on Revit and prepares layouts for development of drawings by technicians and reviews completed work for technical adequacy and completeness.
• Prepares technical specifications, material estimates, correspondence, technical reports, and portions of design memoranda.
• Prepares detailed cost estimates for assigned projects and assigned portions of projects.
• Assists with the development of Requests for Proposal (RFPs) responses.
• Makes site visits to identify and eliminate conflicts with existing conditions.
• Prepares detailed engineering economic analyses to produce more energy efficient operations.
• Provides solutions to mechanical construction issues.

Coordinates reviews and recommends approval action of shop drawings, submittals, and O&M manuals submitted on construction projects.
