Job Description
We are in search of a diligent Patient Access Representative for our client in the healthcare and social assistance industry. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, responsible for handling customer service-related tasks and managing the flow of patient information. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. Located in New Orleans, Louisiana, this is a short-term contract to full time employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Answer and direct phone calls, ensuring that all inquiries are addressed promptly and professionally
• Schedule appointments for patients, ensuring a smooth and efficient process
• Check-in patients upon arrival, verifying their information and directing them appropriately
• Collaborate closely with the practice manager to ensure smooth operations within the clinic
• Utilize your customer service skills to efficiently handle patient complaints and concerns
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, processing customer accounts and keeping track of their status
• Contribute to the team's efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed
• Possess a strong background in healthcare, hospitals, or social assistance sectors
• Excellent customer service skills are vital
• Proven ability to handle and resolve complaints in a professional and efficient manner
• Experience as a Patient Access Representative or similar role is desirable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology
• Proficiency in using patient registration systems or health information systems
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
• High school diploma or equivalent education level
• Knowledge of insurance verification processes in a healthcare setting
