The Northwest School seeks a 0.75 FTE short-term leave replacement Theatre Teacher with professional experience in teaching and theater production. This position requires someone who works well with students from 6th-12th grade and can foster mentoring relationships among students in multi-level classroom environments.
This is a part-time and short-term leave replacement position for the dates of August 19, 2024 - November 17, 2024. This is a 0.75 FTE teaching faculty position, compromised of teaching the following classes: Middle School Theater Production, Middle School Acting for the Stage, and Upper School Theater Production.
Additional Responsibilities:
Attend all required faculty meetings, including Arts, Full Faculty, Division, D.E.I., and Professional Development meetings.
Serve as an academic advisor to a group of middle or upper school students.
Communicate and collaborate regularly with department chair, division directors, and colleagues.
Complete all other duties of teaching faculty at NWS as assigned by department chair, divisional leadership, or head of school.
Physical Demands Work is typically performed in a theatre/classroom environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings. The faculty member occasionally lifts or carries objects of a medium weight, up to 50 pounds, and it is expected that they will lift and work on materials necessary for theatre set design and use building and construction equipment. The ability to climb and work at heights/on ladders is required. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the schools mission, values, and philosophy, especially related to diversity, equity, and inclusion; social justice, environmental sustainability, and global perspective.
A bachelor's degree 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
Experience in professional and educational theater productions and a solid background in theatre production.
A strong pedagogical toolkit for student accessibility to curriculum and success in the classroom.
Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree and 3+ years of teaching expereince.
Compensation: Salary range is $57,369- $104,618 based on education & years of experience. This is a 0.75 FTE position which is benefit eligible
